The Carmelite Monastery 4 Stevenson Street, Kew 3101 Mount Carmel in Palestine, and the tradition of Carmelite religious life named after it, have been welcoming pilgrims for 800 years. With great joy we Carmelites in Kew, Melbourne, welcome you, young pilgrims from all over the world. You are following the timeless pilgrimage of humankind searching for the experience of God, Whose love brought you into being forever. ‘Carmel’ symbolises the soul’s inner faith pilgrimage with God’s Word, Jesus, ‘the Way’ to the Spirit spring of loving water within, calling us to follow Him and “Go, bear fruit that will last” (John 15:16).
