Welcome to the historic St Francis’ Church in the heart of Melbourne! St Francis’ is a thriving centre of Eucharistic life right in the city. Founded in 1841, it is the first and oldest Catholic church in Victoria and the original cathedral. Since 1929, St Francis’ has been in the pastoral care of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation. Mass is celebrated several times a day, the Sacrament of the Eucharist is exposed for personal prayer, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is regularly available. Like countless pilgrims of faith before you, you will find St Francis’ a wonderful haven of prayer and peace.
